Spread the love

Although the summer is now behind us, getting outdoors is still something that our minds and bodies benefit from, and in the UK, we are fortunate to have many beautiful outdoor places to visit and enjoy the countryside.

One of the most interesting and enjoyable places to visit in the UK if you love the great outdoors is Romney Marsh. A well as the beautiful countryside, there are plenty of things to do in Romney Marsh which you can see here https://www.localthingstodo.co.uk/locations/things-to-do-in-romney-marsh/ but if you are looking for spectacular scenery this autumn and winter here are some of the best spots to head to…

Dungeness – This strange part of the country is unlike anything that you will find elsewhere in the UK. Seemingly barren it is known as the desert of the UK, but it is also a thriving nature reserve, where many species of birds and other animals can be found, with some that can only be found here. If you are a wannabe Bill Oddie this is definitely a winter walk that will not disappoint.

Greatstone Lakes – This is a walk where you will not only be able to take in the natural beauty of the area, but you will also see some history on the route. The sound mirrors which were a defence system built in the late 1920s, and also the remains of the now unused southern railways line.
